Session by Entrepreneurship Cell for First-Year Engineering (FE) Students: The Power of Teamwork
The Entrepreneurship Cell held an informative session for the first-year engineering students on the topic of Team Building under the Audit course EIS: Entrepreneurship Idea to Start-up where Prof. Janhavi Naik was the guest speaker. The main focus was on teamwork.
Prof. Janhavi stressed the importance of sharing tasks well, saying that successful projects often rely on everyone doing their fair share. She showed this using a Formula 1 video, which highlighted how each team member is crucial for overall success. She talked about how teamwork means people working together towards a shared goal. She said it’s important not to interfere with others’ tasks and to think like a team player.
Students took part in different activities to build trust and coordination. They tried to make the longest straight line using themselves and made up stories based on pictures. This showed their teamwork and critical thinking skills.
Prof. Janhavi explained the different steps in team building, starting from forming, where motivation and encouragement are important, to storming, where helping each other is crucial. This leads to norming, where everyone listens to each other, and finally performing, where the team works at its best.
The session ended with the speaker sharing tips for successful teams, like working together, taking suggestions, and making sure everyone knows their role. The session, led by Prof. Janhavi Naik for the Entrepreneurship Cell, gave valuable insights into teamwork and its importance in business. Students learnt how to work together effectively through discussions and fun activities.
The event was hosted by Miss. Shravani Swami and coordinated by Mr. Shrinivas Inamdar.
