First E-Cell Session for FE Students On Curiosity & Creativity
The Entrepreneurship Cell hosted an engaging and interactive lecture for the budding first year students as part of their “Entrepreneurship: Idea to Startup” course on 10th August 2024. The session was conducted by Mr. Amey Shet Tilve, E-cell Convenor & Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Engineering at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda.
The session commenced with Prof. Amey Tilve introducing the concept of an Entrepreneurship Cell, elucidating its role and significance within our college. He explained how the cell functions as a nurturing ground for aspiring entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary resources, guidance, and support. Prof. Amey Shet Tilve then delved into the broader concept of entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of creativity, innovation, and a problem-solving mindset in the journey of an entrepreneur.
To make the session more interactive and to stimulate the creative thinking of the students, Prof. Amey Shet Tilve conducted two engaging activities. The first activity challenged students to create as many creative questions as possible based on a simple image of a pencil. This exercise pushed students to think beyond the obvious, sparking discussions and generating a wide array of innovative questions.
The second activity was designed to foster teamwork and collaborative thinking. Students were divided into groups and tasked with drawing creative elements that came to their minds when presented with two images. The groups then had to collaborate, combine their creative outputs, and weave them into a cohesive story. This activity not only encouraged inventive thinking but also highlighted the importance of teamwork in the entrepreneurial process.
Throughout the session, Prof. Amey Shet Tilve emphasized the value of creativity and collaboration in entrepreneurship. He pointed out that entrepreneurs are those who can think differently, work effectively in teams, and turn challenges into opportunities. The activities conducted during the session served as practical demonstrations of these concepts, allowing students to experience first-hand the skills required to succeed in the entrepreneurial world.
The session concluded with a discussion on the importance of maintaining a growth mindset and being open to learning and adapting in the face of challenges. Prof. Amey Shet Tilve encouraged the students to actively participate in the Entrepreneurship Cell’s activities and to continually seek out opportunities to innovate and grow.
Overall, the lecture was a highly informative and inspiring session that not only deepened the students’ understanding of entrepreneurship but also provided them with practical tools and exercises to enhance their creative and collaborative skills.
