NDLI Session on Geo-polymer Concrete: A Sustainable Blueprint and Way Ahead

The Civil Engineering Department of DBCE, Fatorda in collaboration with the NDLI Club organized a talk on “Geo-polymer Concrete: A Sustainable Blueprint and Way Ahead”, by Dr. Nitendra Palankar, Associate Professor, DBCE for final year civil engineering students.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Ms. Angel Rodrigues. Dr. Nitendra Palankar emphasized on various aspects of reaction chemistry, manufacturing, cost analysis and applications of geo-polymer concrete in today’s industry.
He encouraged the students to study and explore in the field of this innovative concrete as it is advantageous compared to ordinary concrete interms of strength, curing conditions. Virgin raw materials are the wastes generated by steel industries, hence cost effective and have less carbon footprint. The talk was highly enlightening and beneficial to all attendees. It was an effective talk with active learning and student involvement.
