DBCE Participates in Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament

The Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament for both men and women, organized by Goa University, was held at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim. Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda, participated in both categories, with the women’s team reaching the quarterfinals and the men’s team emerging as champions for the second consecutive year.

Women’s Tournament Performance

Our women’s basketball team put up a strong performance in the tournament. In the first round, they secured a victory against Nirmala College of Education. However, in the quarterfinals, they faced a tough challenge against Don Bosco College, Panjim, and despite their best efforts, they were unable to advance further in the competition.

Men’s Tournament Performance

The men’s team of DBCE displayed outstanding skill and dominance throughout the tournament, successfully defending their title as intercollegiate champions for the second year in a row.

First Match: DBCE defeated Rosary College with a commanding score of 61-19.

Quarterfinals: The team continued their strong performance by winning against MES Zuarinagar with a score of 40-12.

Semifinals: In a competitive match against SS Dempo College, DBCE secured a 57-34 victory.

Finals: The championship match against St. Xavier’s College was a thrilling contest, where DBCE emerged victorious with an impressive score of 84-60, claiming the title once again.

The tournament was a great platform for our players to showcase their talent and teamwork. The men’s team’s back-to-back championship win reflects their dedication, rigorous training, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all the players for their exceptional performance!
