The Department of Civil Engineering at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, in collaboration with the NDLI Club, organized an insightful talk on “Holistic Success: Cultivating Personal Growth, Self-Discovery, and Leadership alongside Academic Excellence.” The session was delivered by Mr. Krishna A. Sahakari, CEO of K. A. Sahakari & Associates, and was attended by students from both the Civil and Computer Engineering departments.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Asst. Prof. Shruti Jambhale, setting a positive tone for the session. Mr. Sahakari emphasized that the world relies on engineers not just for constructing structures, but for their resilience, safety standards, and integrity. He stressed the need for India to produce engineers who are not only skilled but also ethical.

Key highlights of the talk included:

  • The importance of engaging in learning sessions and consistently updating oneself with new software and technologies.
  • The need for research and innovation in areas like traffic management, especially in the city of Margao.
  • Career opportunities after completing a B.E., and the importance of maintaining a continuous learning curve to stay competitive in today’s fast-paced world.
  • The powerful idea: “Learn not how, but why”, encouraging students to understand the core purpose behind what they study.

The session concluded with a thought-provoking quote: “Work performed with higher knowledge or skill, capacity or ambition, usually brings a correspondingly higher reward.”

The talk was highly enlightening and beneficial for all attendees. It encouraged active learning and saw enthusiastic participation from students, making it a memorable and impactful event.
