BOOTCAMP FOR FE STUDENTS

The Department of Science and Humanities in collaboration with the Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC) organized a Bootcamp on 12th September 2025, titled “Innovation, Creativity, Prototyping and Startups” for the first year Computer and ECS students. The event aimed to nurture creativity, enhance problem-solving capabilities and introduce students to the fundamentals of Innovation and the startup ecosystem.
The session featured three distinguished speakers, each bringing unique insights from their areas of expertise:
- Mr. Siddhant Panjikar, the Head of the rapid prototyping lab at DBCE, Fatorda, started with a presentation followed by a film on the Goa State Innovation Council’s objective and initiatives. Mr. Siddhant explained project funding, patent filing and the benefits of registering ideas and businesses. He also discussed key aspects of prototyping labs, including resource planning, testing and their role in turning ideas into viable products.
- Mr. Deepam Lotlikar, Co-Founder and Project Manager at CodeRelix LLP, in his engaging talk titled “From Code to Chaos: The Journey of a Tech Startup Founder”, shared his personal experiences navigating the challenges of founding and scaling a tech startup. He emphasized the importance of resilience, adaptability and continuous learning in the dynamic world of technology entrepreneurship.
- Ms. Anindita Chakrabarty, an Eco Wellness Specialist and finest trainer captivated the audience with her session on how creativity can make life easy. She emphasized the role of creative thinking in everyday problem-solving and professional innovation, highlighting that creativity and ideation are the building blocks of innovation.
The Bootcamp was well-received by the students, who actively participated in the interactive discussions and Q&A sessions. It served as a platform to motivate budding innovators to think beyond conventional boundaries and take their first steps toward building impactful startups. The event was coordinated by Mr. Harison Cota and Ms. Esta Pereira under the overall guidance of Dr. Kala Nayak, Head of the Department of Science and Humanities, in collaboration with GSInC.
