The 4th IEEE International Conference for Advancement in Technology (ICONAT 2025), sponsored by the IEEE Bombay Section, was held on 20th September 2025 at The International Centre Goa (ICG), Dona Paula.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of eminent dignitaries and participants. The Chief Guest, Mr. Philippe Maurin, Scientific and Higher Education Attaché – Consulate General of France in India, highlighted the importance of international collaboration and the strengthening of Indo-French partnerships in research and higher education. The Guest of Honor, Dr. Prerna Gaur, Director, Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) – West Campus and Chair, IEEE India Council, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the vital role of academia and IEEE in fostering innovation and preparing the next generation of engineers and technologists. Their addresses set a forward-looking tone for the conference, promoting global cooperation and academic excellence.

The technical sessions covered diverse themes, including France–India research collaborations, the history and evolution of IEEE, and a session on research methodology and paper referencing, which offered valuable insights on citation practices, academic integrity, and ethics in research—particularly beneficial to young scholars. Special sessions also explored future-oriented topics such as AI in Business, presented by Dr. Starcen, who discussed the integration of artificial intelligence in real-world business applications, and The Future of Global Engagement, delivered by Dr. Lorenz, who highlighted the role of AI, digital collaboration, and sustainable engineering in addressing global challenges. Discussions included key aspects like international STEM mobility, AI governance, ethical data sharing, and equitable technology access, encouraging participants to adopt a global and responsible approach to innovation.

Members of the IEEE Student Branch of Don Bosco College of Engineering, under the guidance of IEEE SB Counselor Mr. Yeshudas Muttu, actively attended the conference, gaining exposure to contemporary research trends, professional networking, and international perspectives in technology and innovation. Their participation reinforced the branch’s commitment to technical excellence, interdisciplinary learning, and engagement with the wider IEEE community.
