R&D Cell Session on Research and Writing Skills

The Research and Development (R&D) Cell of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized an insightful session aimed at enhancing research and writing skills among its members. The event featured two expert speakers who shared their knowledge on essential aspects of research proposal preparation and technical paper writing.
The first session, delivered by Dr. Saidi Reddy Parne, Associate Professor of Physics, Department of Applied Sciences, NIT Goa, focused on “Research Project Proposal Writing.” Dr. Parne introduced the “Tree of Fulfillment” concept, emphasizing the alignment of research goals with broader objectives. He discussed research grants, funding opportunities, and key elements of an effective proposal, providing practical guidance on crafting competitive applications.
The second session was conducted by Dr. Narendra Nath Ghosh, Professor, Department of Chemistry, BITS Pilani K. K. Birla Goa Campus, on “Effective Technical Paper Writing.” Dr. Ghosh explained the different types of research papers, the evaluation process, and the essential steps involved in preparing a manuscript. He highlighted the importance of clarity, structure, and originality in academic writing to enhance the quality and impact of publications.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Shwetha Prasanna, Chairperson of the R&D Cell, along with team members Dr. Shreyas Simu, Dr. Chetan Gaonkar, Dr. Nitendra Palankar, Dr. Amrita Naik, and Dr. Mohini Naik.
The sessions were highly informative and engaging, motivating participants to pursue quality research and improve their scholarly writing skills.
