A two-day international conference on New Horizons in Civil Engineering – Sustainable Innovative Materials & New Technologies was organized by Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, on 30th and 31st October 2025.

Dr. Shwetha Prasanna presented a technical paper titled “Prediction of Shear Strength Parameters Using Basic Soil Properties” in virtual mode. Prof. Swaroopa Sail also participated virtually and presented on “Soil Stabilization Using Rice Husk Ash, Sugarcane Bagasse, and Construction and Demolition Waste.” Prof. Vanessa Fernandes presented her paper “Estimation of Hole Erosion Rate in Goa Using Hole Erosion Test” in person at the venue.

Day 1 featured keynote addresses by Prof. Ravindra Gettu, IIT Madras, on “Technology Implementation as a Primary Motivation for Research in Concrete Technology,” and Prof. Santhosh Kumar, IIT Bombay, on “AI and Technology in Construction,” followed by four technical sessions on Structural Engineering, Construction Materials, Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering, and Environmental and Water Resource Engineering.

On Day 2, Prof. Ramesh Nayaka, IIT Dharwad, delivered a keynote presentation on “3D Concrete Printing Technology for Sustainable Infrastructure,” followed by paper presentations by students, researchers, and academicians.
