New Office Bearers of Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI) DBCE Student Chapter take oath

The Installation Ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of the Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI), DBCE Student Chapter for the academic year 2025–26 was conducted on 14 February 2026 at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Goa. The event was organized by the FSAI Student Chapter of the Mechanical Engineering Department in association with the FSAI Goa Chapter.
The programme was graced by Mr. Ashok Menon, Chairman – Operations (MoA, Ethics, Finance & HR), FSAI and former Director of Goa Fire and Emergency Services, as the Chief Guest. Also present on the dais were Rev. Fr. Wilfred Fernandes, Director, DBCE; Mr. Anand Ramakrishnan, President, FSAI Goa Chapter; Dr. Suraj Marathe, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department; Dr. Ajit Salunke, Faculty Coordinator; and Mr. Britt Vales, the incoming Chapter President.
Mr. Menon, delivered an insightful address highlighting the importance of fire and industrial safety as a professional responsibility. Drawing from his extensive experience in fire services and disaster management, he encouraged students to actively engage in awareness programmes and uphold high safety standards in their future careers. Fr. Wilfred encouraged students to actively participate in professional bodies to develop leadership qualities and technical competence. Mr. Ramakrishnan, President of the FSAI Goa Chapter, highlighted the rapidly advancing developments in the field of mechanical engineering and elaborated on the promising career prospects available for aspiring engineers. Dr. Marathe delivered the welcome address and emphasized the importance of the FSAI Student Chapter in enhancing students’ knowledge of fire safety and industrial safety through training programmes, workshops, and industry interaction. Mr. Anish Barretto, outgoing President, presented the Annual Report for 2025–26, highlighting major activities conducted during the year. The newly elected office bearers formally took the oath, pledging to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and integrity while promoting safety awareness. Mr. Britt delivered the vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Prof. Aniket Naik, Faculty Coordinator.

A Digital Poster Designing Competition on the theme “Fire Safety” was organized for the students. Prof. Sachin Turi and Prof. Shweta Morajkar served as the judges for the competition. The first prize was bagged by Rudra Naik, while the second prize was secured by Mazen Leitao.
