Report on The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) and Goa State Higher Education Council (GSHEC) organized “Vidnyan Dhara”, a Mega Science series

Under VIDNYAN DHARA 2026 – a Mega Science Series organized by the Goa State Higher Education Council and the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, an expert session was conducted on 03rd February 2026 at Immaculate Conception High School, Avedem, Paroda, Kepem-Goa. The session was conducted by Mrs Manisha Fal Dessai, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Goa on the topic “From WhatsApp to Wi-Fi: Magic of Computer Networks” for 8th and 9th standard students.

The session helped students explore the fundamentals of computer networks by connecting the topic to technologies they use every day, such as WhatsApp, internet services, and Wi-Fi. Concepts were explained in a simple and student-friendly manner using real-life situations, enabling students to understand how information is shared between devices and how networks support modern communication. The session also provided insights into future career opportunities in this field and included several fun and interesting facts related to computer networks, which kept the students curious and attentive. Active interaction and enthusiastic participation from students made the session lively, informative, and meaningful.
