Seven students from the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) programme and two students from the Master of Engineering programme, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Satyesh Kakodkar and Asst. Prof. Shruti Jambhale, participated in the 58th Convention of the Indian Water Works Association (IWWA). The convention was held at Marathwada Institute of Technology, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, from 22nd to 24th January 2026.

During the convention, students actively contributed to the technical sessions through paper presentations. Clarita De Souza and Rohan Viegas (M.E. CASE) presented their paper titled “Integrated Rainwater Harvesting using PLAXIS, QGIS, and SWMM: A Campus-Scale Sustainable Water Management Framework.” Yogan Kossambe and Sailee Mahale (B.E. Civil) presented “Systematic Water Auditing for Medical Colleges & Hospitals: A Review,” while Liam Mendes and Omvithal Raikar (B.E. Civil) presented “Transformation of Intermittent Water Supply System into a Continuous 24×7 Supply System: A Review.”

Through these presentations, as well as participation in technical talks and panel discussions, the students gained valuable insights into contemporary challenges and innovative solutions in water sustainability, system design, and urban water management. The convention provided them with significant academic exposure and an opportunity to interact with experts and professionals in the field.

In addition to the academic engagement, the students undertook educational visits to the Ellora Caves, the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, and the Bibi Ka Maqbara, enriching their cultural understanding alongside their technical learning.

The visit proved to be a highly beneficial experience, fostering academic growth, professional exposure, and holistic development among the participating students. The guidance and mentorship provided by Asst. Prof. Shruti Jambhale and Asst. Prof. Satyesh Kakodkar contributed significantly to the overall success of the visit.
