Inauguration of the ‘Campus to Career’ Initiative by the Government of Goa

Mr. Sachin Turi, Assistant Professor and Training & Placement Coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, participated in the Campus to Career initiative—an impactful programme launched by the Government of Goa to strengthen the crucial link between academia and industry. The event, held on 19th March 2026 in Old Goa, was organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Higher Education, the Goa State Higher Education Council (GSHEC), the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), and the Directorate of Industries, Trade & Commerce (DITC). The event was further distinguished by the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Mr. Pramod Sawant, along with eminent dignitaries from both industry and academia. The initiative sought to generate meaningful employment and apprenticeship opportunities for Goan youth, fostering pathways that bridge education with industry needs.
The programme placed strong emphasis on nurturing a resilient work culture among students while equipping Goan youth with industry-ready skills through practical exposure. It underscored the importance of introducing career counselling at an early stage within educational institutions, broadened apprenticeship opportunities through government portals. In addition, it reinforced support for emerging sectors and knowledge-driven industries, ensuring that young professionals are prepared to thrive in a rapidly evolving economic landscape.
The initiative established a strong foundation for sustained collaboration among the Government, educational institutions, and industry leaders. With such collective efforts, Goa is steadily advancing toward empowering its youth and cultivating a robust, future-ready workforce.
