Industry–Academia Convergence Event (Crossroad) at Bosch Learning Campus

Dr. Shreyas Simu attended the “Crossroad: The Industry–Academia Convergence” event organized by Bosch Limited on 16th March 2026 at the Bosch Learning Campus, Bengaluru. The event was designed to create a collaborative platform for strengthening the relationship between academia and industry, with a particular focus on preparing students for future technological and manufacturing challenges. It brought together academic leaders, industry experts, and professionals to discuss strategies for bridging the gap between theoretical education and practical industry requirements.
The event commenced with a meet-and-greet session over breakfast, providing an opportunity for an informal interaction among participants. This was followed by a welcome address from the Talent Acquisition team, who outlined the objectives of the event and emphasized the importance of academic partnerships. A corporate video presentation highlighted Bosch’s global presence and its contributions to innovation and engineering excellence. This was followed by a panel discussion with HR leaders of Bosch Ltd. Which offered valuable insights into the strategic direction of the company and underscored the need for aligning academic curricula with industry expectations.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of a new campus–industry partnership program called “RUNWAY101” aimed at enhancing student readiness and employability in the manufacturing sector. The program overview session detailed its structure, objectives, and expected outcomes, focusing on bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications. The collaboration with the Unstop platform for the same was also introduced, demonstrating how digital platforms can facilitate engagement between students and industry.
The afternoon session focused on collaboration and future goals, beginning with a networking session that enabled direct interaction with Talent Acquisition Team of Bosch and TPO’s of various colleges. This provided valuable opportunities to discuss skill requirements, industry expectations, and potential partnerships. The industry–academia synergy session focussed on the importance of faculty immersion, technical upskilling, and exposure to real-world manufacturing challenges, reinforcing the need for continuous learning and adaptation for engineering faculties.
The final segment of the event was the discussion on diversity, equity, and inclusion, titled “Beyond the Numbers.” This session emphasized the role of inclusive practices followed by Bosch in building a progressive and innovative work environment, aligning with Bosch’s broader organizational values. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all participants, followed by a final networking tea session that facilitated further interaction and exchange of ideas.
Overall, the event was highly informative and provided deep insights into the evolving dynamics of industry–academia collaboration. It highlighted the growing need for interdisciplinary skills, practical exposure, and continuous curriculum enhancement to meet industry demands. The interactions and discussions throughout the event reinforced the importance of collaborative efforts in shaping future-ready engineers and creating a sustainable ecosystem for innovation and growth.
