The Entrepreneurship Cell of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Goa, organised an interactive session on Personal Branding on 9 May, 2026. The session aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and tools to build a compelling professional identity. The session was designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs and career-oriented students understand how strategic self-presentation can create lasting impact in competitive professional environments.

The session began with a focus on building a strong online presence. Students learned how platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and personal websites can help showcase their skills. They were encouraged to keep their profiles professional, consistent, and filled with high-quality content. LinkedIn was highlighted as the main tool for networking and sharing ideas. Posting useful content and joining conversations regularly helps attract the right audience and grow visibility.

Next, the discussion moved to personal branding. It was explained that branding is not just about promoting yourself but about telling your story honestly. Participants were guided to identify their strengths, values, and the area they want to be known for. They also learned how to create a personal value statement that connects passion, skills, and market needs. Consistency in tone, visuals, and messaging was stressed, along with showing real work, testimonials, and achievements to build trust.
The session also covered common errors that can harm a personal brand. These included being inconsistent in communication, sharing too much personal content, and ignoring followers. Copying others instead of developing an original style was discouraged. Students were reminded that negative feedback should be seen as a chance to improve. Finally, it was noted that not having a clear niche or target audience makes it difficult to stand out.
Students from different departments actively took part in the session. They left with a better understanding of how to shape their personal stories and create meaningful digital identities. The session gave them practical tools to start building credibility and visibility online. Many participants felt more confident about presenting themselves in a professional way.
To keep the momentum going, a four-week challenge was introduced. Students were asked to stay active on LinkedIn, maintain consistency in their work, and focus on improving themselves. This challenge was designed to help them practice what they learned and see real progress. Overall, the session gave them both knowledge and a clear path to strengthen their personal brand.
