Third Year Mechanical Students visit Godrej Locking Solutions and Churi Electromech

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized an industrial visit for the Third Year Mechanical Engineering students on 15th May 2026 to Godrej Locking Solutions and Systems and Churi Electromech Industries. The students were accompanied by Prof. Sachin Turi, Prof. Gaurish Samant and Prof. Ansh Bandekar. The visit commenced with an introductory session by Mr. James Kurian, General Manager of Godrej, who briefed about the company’s history, manufacturing practices, quality standards, and industrial safety measures.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe various advanced manufacturing processes and machinery used in the lock manufacturing division. They observed the Die casting process, Press tool operations, CNC machining operations, VMC (Vertical Machining Centre) operations, Wire EDM machine, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), Automated assembly systems and Quality inspection procedures. They gained practical understanding of precision manufacturing, automation techniques, tooling systems, and quality control methods used in the industry.
At Churi Electromech Industries, Mr. Sachi Churi, introduced the company and explained its industrial operations. The students observed various manufacturing and finishing operations including Press tool operations, Powder coating process, Welding operations and Assembly processes. They were able to understand different fabrication and finishing techniques adopted in the industry and the importance of workflow management and production planning.
The industrial visit was coordinated by Prof. Gaurish Samant and Prof. Sachin Turi with the support of Dr. Suraj Marathe, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
