Hands on Session on “Effective use of AI: Tools and Techniques”

The CII–IWN DBCE Student’s Chapter of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized a hands-on session on “Effective Use of AI: Tools and Techniques” on 15th May 2026 with the objective of helping students understand the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in academics and professional environments. The session was conducted by Ms. Nestinka Rebello, Director and COO of CodeMax IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., who shared valuable insights into the practical applications of AI tools and modern prompting techniques.

The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Sonia Kuncolienkar, Ex-Chairperson of CII–IWN, along with representatives from CodeMax IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Ms. Raveena Rivonkar and Ms. Salina Raikar, as well as members of CII–IWN. The session was coordinated by Ms. Melba D’Souza, Faculty Coordinator of the CII–IWN DBCE Student’s Chapter, while Ms. Raynel Dias served as the compere for the programme.

The session commenced with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence and its rapidly expanding influence across various industries. Ms. Rebello explained how AI can be effectively leveraged to enhance productivity, creativity, learning, and problem-solving capabilities. She introduced participants to a range of AI-powered tools used for content creation, coding assistance, research, presentations, design, and data analysis, demonstrating their practical applications in both academic and professional settings.

A key highlight of the programme was its interactive and hands-on approach. Participants actively explored and used several AI tools during the session. Through guided exercises, students learned how AI can assist in generating ideas, improving written content, simplifying complex tasks, and increasing efficiency in day-to-day activities. The practical demonstrations enabled participants to immediately apply the concepts discussed and gain firsthand experience with AI technologies.

The session also emphasized the importance of effective prompting techniques, illustrating how well-structured prompts can significantly improve the quality and relevance of AI-generated outputs. Students gained valuable insights into best practices for interacting with AI systems and maximizing their potential across different applications.

Overall, the session was highly informative, engaging, and beneficial for the participants. It provided a balanced combination of theoretical understanding and practical exposure to contemporary AI tools and technologies. The programme encouraged students to explore and utilize Artificial Intelligence responsibly and effectively for academic excellence, personal development, and future professional growth.
