Installation of SAE INDIA collegiate club of Don Bosco College of Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering Department of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda installed the “SAE INDIA Collegiate Club” on 29th April 2017. The Chief Guest for the Inaugural function was Mr. Pankaj Munoli, AGM, Tata Marcopolo Motors Ltd, Dharwad and Mr. Raghuveer Vernekar, Chairman of Education Committee, GCCI was the Guest of Honour.
Mr. Munoli delivered a talk on “Current and Future Trends of Automotive Technology”. He emphasized on various domains like CAE, testing and validation and advances in Product Life cycle management. Mr. Vernekar spoke on four pillars of complete education: Learning to know, Learning to do, Learning to be, Learning to live together and elaborated further by citing from life story of Edmund Hillary.
Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director elaborated on the advancements of Automotive Technology over the years citing his personal experiences of mentoring school dropouts. Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal encouraged the students to participate in various competitions organized by SAE. Prof Ajit Salunke, HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department, urged students to use the incubation facilities in the college for R&D activities in Automobile Engineering. Prof. Chetan Gaonkar, Senior Faculty Advisor gave a brief introduction of the DBCE chapter. Prof. Raymond Joseph proposed the vote of thanks.
Prof. Siddu Biradar is the additional faculty advisor. The student office bearers are as follows; Chairperson: Mr. Mohammad Faraz Khan, Vice Chairperson: Mr. Divyajeet Naik and Secretary: Mr. Nagesh Kochkar.
