The Mechanical Department of Don Bosco College of Engineering conducted a Two Weeks Audit Course on “Industrial Automation, Solid Works & 3D Printing” for the Third Year students of Mechanical Engineering from 2nd July 2018 to 14th July 2018. The course commenced with a One Week Training on Industrial Automation which covered different topics ranging from Basics of Audrino Programming, Sensors, Robotics, PLC programing followed by hands on sessions on the same. The resource persons were Mr Rajaram Parsekar, Owner, Elementronix, Prof Devendra Sutar Asst. Professor, ETC Department, GEC and Mr. Sandeep Mone, Owner, Autotech. The workshop was coordinated by Prof Ramnath Prabhu
The following Week the students were introduced to Solid Works Software where they had hands on experience on solid modeling and assembly drawing. The resource persons were faculty from the department. The workshop was coordinated by Prof Sanjeel Naik.
The workshop concluded with two days training on “3D Printing” by Mr Ryan Vaz from Infinty 3D. They explained in detail the 3D printing techniques/Machines and their applications across various fields like manufacturing, medical, construction etc. The students also developed their own 3D printed parts. The workshop was coordinated by Prof Gaurish Samant.
Prof. Anil Raikar, Ex. Senior Scientist, Philips India & Visiting Faculty of DBCE delivered a talk on “Automation in Industry” He was also the Chief Guest for the Valedictory function. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz highlighted the importance of Automation in the modern industry and appreciated the Mechanical Department for being in the forefront of Industry Institute Interaction. Prof. Ajit Salunke, HOD- Mechanical focused on the importance of the workshop for student’s projects. Prof Ramnath Prabhu proposed the Vote of Thanks.
