INSPIRUS 2K18 Organized by C-CODES in association with Computer Engineering Department
‘INSPIRUS 2K18-Make it happen’ is a national level intercollegiate technical and non-technical event, hosted for the second time by the Department of Computer Engineering, in association with C-CODES, of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Goa on 21st and 22 September 2018.
The event was inaugurated, and INSPIRUS was declared open by the chief guest of inaugural function Mr. Girish Bharne , Vice President, Persistent Systems Limited, Goa. He had spoken about how technology keeps on evolving and how the students need to keep pace with the trending technology. He also spoke about how the students should be made industry ready. The inaugural ceremony also included the installation of the new C-CODES student council for 2018-19. Distinction holders of final year engineering were also felicitated during the inaugural ceremony. C-CODES also felicitated 2 young entrepreneurs Mr.Shravan Hegde and Mr.Gaurish Gawas who passed out from same college for their excellence in entrepreneurship. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Merwyn D’Souza. A souvenir for INSPIRUS 2K18 was launched on this occasion.
The various events held on 21st September were Rubik’s Cube, Mindspark, Scavenger Hunt, Virtual DJ, Framed and Designers’ Paradise. The events held on 22nd September were Hackathon, Code It Blind, Edit Out and Google Sketch up. There was a seminar on Career and Entrepreneurship in 3D technology conducted by Mr. Ryan Vaz, owner of Infinyt 3D, Verna. Gaming events held were Counter Strike GO PUBG mobile and FIFA’18 PS4.
The valedictory function was held on 22nd September 2018. The Chief Guest for the function was Mr. Jervis Pereira, Regional Head Business Development, Buoyancy Consultants. He quoted “Don’t be the Consumer, be the Creator”. He also spoke about following your passions and working hard towards the field of success.
In the college section, Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi bagged the first place as winners of INSPIRUS 2K18 while Shri Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Shiroda won the second place. In the higher secondary category, Rosary Higher Secondary bagged the first place.
Prof. Amey K. Shet Tilve proposed the vote of thanks. A total of around 525 students from around 37 colleges, higher secondary schools and schools from in and around Goa participated in the event. There were prizes worth rupees one lakh which were bagged by students from different colleges. The coordinators for the event were Prof. Merwyn D’Souza and Prof. Amey K. Shet Tilve. The convener for the event was Prof. Gaurang S. Patkar.
