Workshop on 5S and Kaizen at Goa State Industries Association, Patto Centre. Panaji

A One Day Workshop on 5S and Kaizen was organized by  Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) on 12^th October 2018 at its head office in Patto Centre ,Panaji . The workshop was attended by Prof. Swapnil Ramani and  Prof. Suraj Marathe from the Department of Mechanical Engineering,            Don Bosco College of Engineering , Fatorda. The Resource person for the Workshop was Mr. Benjamin A. , Lead Consultant, Achieve Goa. The participants included industry professionals working in Production, Quality and Maintenance Departments from companies like Shanta Pumps, Essel Propeck, Global Conveyors, Zarhak Moulders, Impex, Rototechnic, Crompton greaves etc.

The workshop was divided into 4 sessions focusing on areas Kaizen, PDCA and 5S. The 1^st session on “Productivity enhancement through Materials Management” was delivered by Mr. Girish Potdar, Lead auditor ISO 90001: 1994 followed by a talk on “Role of Maintenance in Productivity Enhancement” by Mr. Prashant Naik, Manager- Continual Improvement, Titan Time products Verna. The afternoon sessions started with Mr. Sachin Mirajkar, Head Operations ,Netzsch Technologies, Verna Goa delivering a talk on Productivity Enhancement as means for promoting cleaner production. The last session of the day was conducted by Mr. Vithal Kamat ,General Manager-Manufacturing, Nipro India pvt. Ltd. Pune on Impact of Quality Improvement on Productivity. The workshop was attended by industry professionals from Godrej, Turbocam ,Crompton Greaves, Goa Shipyard Ltd, MRF and faculty members from engineering colleges. The faculties had enriching experience at the workshop and also had informative interactions with the resource persons.
