The Department of Computer Engineering at Don Bosco College of Engineering organized a 2 day National Conference on Emerging Trends in Computer & Electronics Engineering (NCETCE) on the 8th and 9th of November 2018.
The inaugural ceremony for the National Conference was held on 8th November 2018 at the hands of Mr. Kishore M. Shah, Founder and Director of Ideaz Limited along with Mr. Abhay Bhamaikar, Chairman of Computer Society of India (Goa Chapter). Also present for the ceremony was Rev. Fr. Kinley D’ Cruz, Director of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Prof. Gaurang Patkar, Convenor (NCETCE) and Head of Computer Department along with Prof. Amrita Naik and Prof. Shweta Morajkar, Coordinators for the conference.
The Chief Guest Mr. Kishore M. Shah, in his speech appealed to the students to develop a sense of curiosity, to explore and re-invent the normal things of life. He advised faculty members to inspire their students by following new teaching methodologies.
During the inaugural ceremony, the dignitaries also released the Conference Proceedings CD which contained all the research papers to be published as part of the conference.
The Inaugural ceremony was followed by Seminar on “Digital Manufacturing-Changing lives”by Mr. Ryan Vaz, Founder and Director of Infinyt 3D, Verna.
The two days of the conference was organized as follows: paper presentation sessions in areas of Image Processing, Data Mining, Internet of Things (IoT) , Robotics and Electronics. Alongside these presentations, keynote sessions were conducted by the likes of Dr. Sharad Sinha, Asst. Prof. IIT Goa, Dr. Venkatnaresh Babu Kuppili and Dr. Damodar Reddy Edla, Asst. Prof. from NIT, Goa.
