REPORT ON RESUME WRITING AND DIGITAL RESUME

IEEE Student Branch, DBCE organized their first event on Resume Writing and Digital Resume Workshop at Don Bosco College of Engineering on Saturday, January 05, 2019 from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The Workshop received a good response from IEEE student members and Non – IEEE students. The Resource person for the workshop was Prof. Avila Naik, Assistant Training & Placement Officer, DBCE. It was ably supported and guided by IEEE Student Branch Counselor, Prof. Yeshudas Muttu & IEEE Student Branch Adviser, Dr. Varsha Turkar.

IEEE Student Branch Chairperson, Mr. Sherwin Colaco welcomed the participants and introduced the Resource person. The first session commenced with Introduction to Resume, Importance of building Resume, and the difference between Curriculum Vitae and Resume were put forth with minute details. Prof. Avila helped the students to understand do’s and don’ts in a Resume. In addition to this, different sections of a resume that one needs to format and types of format were discussed. In the afternoon session, students prepared their own Resume and all participants were given individual attention during this session. Prof. Avila made students realize that workshop on Resume writing cannot be completed in one day. The students successfully completed the first part of the workshop and suggested to continue as Series II on another day. On a concluding note, IEEE Student Branch Vice-chairperson, Mr. Rohan Bukkam thanked the Resource person for delivering such an important and necessary topic, and also showed gratitude to IEEE Branch Counselor for his support in organizing the workshop.
