‘SEEDS – 8th February 2019’
The 3rd event of SEEDS for the academic year was held on the 8th February 2019. The students participated in various events: Science Exhibition, Market It, What’s the Issue, Tech-Play and Photography.
In the Science Exhibition, the students worked on various projects which were judged by Prof. Michelle Aruajo(Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering) and Prof. Christina Barretto(Department of Computer Engineering). FE Mechanical 1 secured the first place. Staff Coordinators were Prof. Gladys Dasilva and Prof. Deizy D’souza. The student Co-ordinator was Mr. Shivam Naik.
The theme for photography was ‘Breads of Goa’. FE Computer was declared the winner by the judge Mr. Rolland Gomes. Staff Coordinator was Prof. Sanford Mascarenhas. The student Co-ordinator was Mr. Shannon Fernandes.
In Market It, the students gave a power point presentation on the technical product that they would intend to sell in the market. The students were judged on innovation, presentation skills and communication. FE ETC bagged the first place. The event was judged by Prof. Jefferey Valadares (Department of Civil Engineering) and Prof. Selvyn Fernandes (Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering)..Staff Coordinators were Prof. Vaishali Parakhi and Prof. Natasha D’souza e Jaques.The student Co-ordinator was Ms. Jyoti Kumari.
Post lunch, the students of FE Civil and FE ETC took part in the final round of debate on “Can the law keep up with today’s internet technology?”. The judges for the event were Mr. Sumeet Naik and Prof. Gaurang Patkar (Department of Computer
Engineering). The students of FE ETC bagged the first place. Staff Coordinators were Prof. Avila Naik and Prof. Steefni Cruz .The student Co-ordinator was Ms. Krupashri Koli.
In the Tech-Play the students enacted the roles of the lives of scientists. The judges for the event were Prof. Sanjeel Naik(Department of Mechanical Engineering) and Prof. Amey Kerkar(Department of Computer Engineering) .The students of FE ETC and FE Computer tied up at the first place. Staff Coordinators were Prof. Roseline Fernandes and Prof. Ulpa Waiangankar. The student Co-ordinator was Mr. Nikhil Chinchwade.
The students of first year under the guidance of Mrs. Mayalin Noronha and Ms. Grebian Alemao organized a canteen in which various snacks were sold . Also, the students put up a game stall for the event which was organized under the guidance of Prof. Sanford Mascarenhas.
The documentaries on the field trip prepared by students were shown to the audience. The Chairperson of SEEDS Mr. Shivam Naik motivated the students towards the plan for the next event which will include interacting with underprivileged children.
The students were allotted points for participation and attendance which was monitored my Ms. Samprita Ghadi.
The event has been a learning experience for the students and are now gearing up for the final event of SEEDS on the 22nd March 2019.
