Field Visit to Sanofi Goa Development Center For TE MECH Under Audit Course in Maintenance Engineering

On 4th April 2019, students of Third Year Mechanical Engineering of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda visited Sanofi Goa Development Center as part of the Audit Course in Maintenance Engineering. Students. They were accompanied by the coordinators Prof. Ishan Kossambe and Prof. Swapnil Ramani.

The visit was organized by Mr. Prasad Adpaikar, Manager Engineering & Operations and Mr. Manoj Kharde, Senior Manager-Human Resources.

The visit started with a presentation by Mr. Prasad Adpaikar, which covered the overview of Sanofi, various machines, utilities in the plant most importantly the role of engineers in pharmaceutical industries. The different types of maintenance engineering practices followed in pharma industry were also addressed. After the session the students were taken to the utilities section wherein the working of Chillers, Boilers, Diesel Generators and their maintenance was explained. The last session involved the visit to the Pilot Tablet Manufacturing plant in which the various processes involved in R & D and manufacturing of tablets were explained. Overall it was a very enlightening and learning experience for the students of BE Mechanical.
