Installation of Chapter Working Committee of ISHRAE DBCE Student Chapter 2019-2020

The Mechanical Engineering Department of Don Bosco College of Engineering installed the Chapter Working Committee of the ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) DBCE Students Chapter for the Academic Year 2019-20 on 24^th August 2019. The installation was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Dipak Desai, Director- Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Guest of Honour Mr. Santosh Naik, President – ISHRAE Goa Chapter, while Mr Rajendra Kerkar, Environmentalist was invited as a key note speaker.  Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, Dr Neena Panandikar, Principal and Prof. Ajit Salunke, Faculty Advisor & HOD, Department of Mechanical Engineering were also present for the function.

Mr. Desai urged students to be passionate, dedicated and develop a knack for perseverance while working towards their goals. Mr. Naik briefed the students about the various initiatives and activities of ISHRAE and encouraged students to join Indian Navy. Fr. Kinley quoting Albert Camus thanked ISHRAE for walking besides us, handholding, mentoring & providing support towards bridging Institute-Industry Gap. Dr. Panandikar urged students to make best use of the Chapter for their academic growth and career prospects and highlighted the need for HVAC Engineers and Consultants in the present growing Industrial and Commercial Infrastructure sector. Prof. Salunke welcomed the gathering and briefed the gathering with an overview of the activities conducted by the DBCE ISHRAE Chapter during the year 2018-19.

An Expert Talk on ‘Biodiversity of Goa’ was delivered by Mr Rajendra Kerkar. He briefed the students on various  indigenous plants, their medicinal  properties and wild animals  found in Goa.

Prof. Monish Borkar, Students Chair, ISHARE Goa Chapter administered the oath to the newly elected Chapter Working Committee,  comprising of Mr. Johan Godinho– President, Mr Keegan Pinto– Secretary, Mr. Steven Fernandes – Treasurer, President Elect- Mr Vivian Viegas and CWC members, Mr. Jeet Pahari and Mr. Akhil Kupassad.

The event concluded with Mr. Johan Godinho, President – ISHRAE DBCE Students Chapter, proposing the vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Prof. Tanay Rege  and compered by Mr. Kegan Pinto and Mr. Reuben Gouveia
