DBCE FSAI Chapter organises Workshop on Fire Safety at Shishu Vikas High School, Shantinagar, Margao to commemorate Engineers Day

DBCE Student’s Chapter of Fire and Security Association of India in association with FSAI Goa Chapter and Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Goa organised a Workshop on “Fire Safety” for students of “Shishu Vikas High School”, Shantinagar, Margao. This was a unique initiative undertaken by the students to commemorate Engineers Day which was on 15^th September 2019.

Headmaster of the School, Shri Vithoba Dessai welcomed all the dignitaries for the safety workshop. Brief introduction and aim behind organising this workshop was given by Prof. Ajit Salunke, Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering. Fire and Emergency services, Station Fire Office- Mr Gail Souza conducted the training session for the students and Sub Officer Mr Amey Kenkre conducted live fire fighting demonstrations.

Students were taught to identify different types/classes of fires and the ways to extinguish it through theory and practical sessions. Students were also taught to operate and handle different type of Fire extinguishers.

The main initiative in conducting this training program was taken up by Don Bosco College of Engineering , FSAI team comprising of Tejas V Pandit ( President), Shreelaxmi Dessai ( Jt Secretary) and Divesh Naik ( Technical Head ) who were also present during the event under the guidance of Prof. Saurabh Raikar. Earlier in the day Mr. Tejas Pandit conducted a motivational session for the students and showed a video of armed forces training.
