FIELD VISIT TO ALCON R & D KUNDAIM

The students of second year Department of Civil Engineering, Don Bosco Collage of Engineering were taken for a field visit on 8^th February 2020 to Alcon research and development center at Kundaim Industrial Estate. Students were accompanied by faculty members Dr. Shwetha Prasanna and Prof. Madhuraj Naik.

This green building center is owned by Alcon constructions (Goa) Pvt. Ltd. and they manufacture different types of pavers, kerbs, dish channel, drain covers, bricks and blocks and tiles and slabs. They use ecofriendly material to manufacture these products. Students were explained to and shown how the concrete pavers are manufactured and what are the machines required to give smooth or rough finish to pavers. They were also shown raw materials which are used to manufacture these products. Students were then introduced to different type of products which they offer to the market and also informed where and how these products are used. Some of the products shown were the uni pavers used for heavy traffic areas, road junctions and industrial belts.
