INSPIRATHON REPORT (48 HOURS HACKATHON)
The main highlight of Inspirus 2K20 was that a 48 hours non stop Full Stack Hackathon “INSPIRATHON”. It was held for the 2nd time in Goa. The event was organized in association with FiiRE (Forum for Innovation Incubation Research and Entrepreneurship) the incubation centre at DBCE.
The hackathon began on November 19, 2020 at 5pm and ran continuously for 48 hours till 5pm on November 21, 2020. Despite it being an online event, the organizing team received a huge response in the registrations , there were participants even from colleges outside the state. A total of 14 teams registered for the hackathon. The participants were from various engineering, polytechnic colleges; under-graduate and master level students included. The cash prizes for the event were sponsored by FiiRE.
The hackathon served as a great platform for the organizers as well as the participants to network and know each other. All the teams were told to upload their work on Github so the judges could evaluate all the work by the participants by sitting in the comfort of their own homes. The teams had to present their solutions to judges on Google meet whereby they were judged on complexity of the solution, completion, innovation, presentation, execution and the solution itself.
After the judging round the participants gave their feedback on attending a first time 48-hour hackathon. The teams commended the organizing team for organizing the hackathon very well and they also expressed their desire to attend the hackathon for the next edition of Inspirus. The Faculty Coordinators were Prof. Merwyn D’Souza, Prof. Amey Tilve and Prof. Mithil Parab. The student coordinators were Cyndroy Rebello , Sheena Mashelkar, Stella Tom, Kaiser Souza, Deepanjali Rawat , Alston Dias, Ruthvi Keny and Aditya Hiranwale.
