Grant of Scholarship to 15 DBCE Students

Shivranjani Securities Company Private Limited (SSCPL) the largest financial intermediary in the state of Goa provided scholarships to 15 well-performing economically challenged students of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda under its CSR initiative. The interaction began with Vijay Hede the Managing Director and his team with these 15 scholars in presence of Rev. Fr. Kinley D ’Cruz, the Director of the Engineering College, Dr. Neena Panandikar, the Principal and Mayalin Noronha, the Counsellor. The scholars shared their life goals and their passions with the donors. The representatives of SSCPL have assured the students that they would strive to render all the possible assistance to help the students overcome the financial challenges and enable them to complete their degree course seamlessly. SSCPL also offered to furnish adequate quantities of reading material in emerging fields like artificial intelligence and its various verticals, robotics, machine learning, virtual reality, nano technology and data science. In his address Vijay Hede emphasized that the scholars ought to have a positive mindset and focus on realizing their passion. They should not look at any failure as a deterrent but an opportunity to learn. In the current times with a high rate of change, the students must learn to learn because during their working lifespan they should be able to acquire interdisciplinary expertise. He referred to these students as his 15 jewels and exhorted them to read widely from acknowledged sources in addition to their textbooks. He also shared illustrations of other scholars in the past whom SSCPL has supported on their life changing achievements in India and abroad. He also hoped that many more institutions and individuals will extend their help to create a better civil society in the state of Goa. The interaction ended with Mayalin Noronha proposing a vote of thanks and hoping that this would only be a beginning of a long-lasting association and friendship of Don Bosco College of Engineering with SSCPL.
