R&D Knowledge sharing session on “A study of Software Reliability”
The R & D Cell (Department of Science & Humanities) of Don Bosco College of Engineering had a session on ‘A study on Software Reliability’ on April 17, 2021 delivered by Mrs.Vaishali Parakhi (Assistant Professor, Mathematics)
In her session, Mrs.Vaishali Parakhi began her lecture with the definition of reliability, and explained how when wear out of the product increases the reliability decreases, which was illustrated by the bathtub curve for hardware as well as software reliability. She also touched upon the component configurations in software reliability and highlighted the differences between Hardware reliability and Software reliability. She further discussed the different types of software reliability models and their characteristics. Finally, she explained that the first widely used and well known model in software reliability was by Jelinski and Moranda.
The session was well received by the audience.
