Technophilia Event -Student felicitation Report

A Felicitation ceremony was held at Gera Imperium Palace, Panjim on  December 28, 2021 by Technowings to felicitate the winners of the Technophilia event. Students namely Sahil Chitrapur, Akshay Batule, Keenan Cardozo, Shahul Ahmed, Nirbhay Borkar were Felicitated for their project of “Design and Development of Oxygen Concentrator”. This concentrator prototype was developed by the above mentioned final year students of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda guided by Prof Gaurish Samant, Head of Department- Prof Ajit Salunke, Principal – Dr. Neena Panandikar and Director-Rev Fr. Kinley DCruz.

This project was also shortlisted for Indian International Science Festival 2021 held at Panjim Goa.The money spent for building the prototype was around Rs. 80,000 and was built using indigenously sourced parts whose cost will further reduce when mass produced, which is far less than the ones available in the commercial market. This concentrator can be used by 2-3 patients simultaneously depending upon the severity. It is also integrated with IOT so that the parameters such as oxygen purity and flow rate can be remotely monitored and the concentrator is well adapted to the Indian environmental condition.

Technophilia was hosted on  Dec 16, 2021 by Technowings at Panjim Convention Centre.This event was open for all college students across Goa. Students from different engineering colleges participated, it was an event full of activity and enthusiasm, creativity, decision making , problem solving, interpersonal skills and teamwork. Various talks were organised such as panel discussion on “Job & business opportunities for IT in Goa”, and other competitions like robo war, dance competition, wealth out of waste, IOT, project exhibition for the benefit of the students. Students really came up wonderfully exploring their talents and skills. Winners from every category were awarded.
