Webinar Organized by IIC- DBCE for National Science Day Celebration on ‘Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future’ by Dr Suraj Marathe

Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) of Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE) celebrated the National Science Day on February 28, 2022 by organizing a webinar on “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future”. It was attended by more than 40 participants of colleges which included students and faculties. The faculty coordinator Mr. Sanjeel Naik started the session with a warm welcome to all the attendees, introduced the DBCE IIC, and gave an overview of its’ function & activities. He then introduced the guest speaker. The session was delivered by speaker Dr. Suraj Marathe, Secretary, Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering, Goa Chapter.

The session started with Dr. Marathe explaining about the integrated approach “Creating knowledge and understanding through science equips us to find solutions to today’s acute economic, social and environmental challenges and helps us achieve sustainable development and greener societies.” The Science, Technology and Society integration leads to a better world was explained by the speaker. The speaker also explained the role of technology with sustainable design to achieve a sustainable product and process for a better lifestyle. The speaker also encouraged the students to develop their ideas and enhance their creativity.

The session ended with a Q&A session, allowing the participants to clarify their doubts and they shared their views on science day. The vote of thanks was delivered by student coordinator Mr Bradley Rodrigues.
