The Department of Mechanical engineering hosted a Farewell Ceremony for final year outgoing students on July 5, 2022. Farewell; a celebration for the students who will be soon stepping out of the Institute to start their career and a new innings in their life, an occasion for staff and junior students to wish them good luck for their next big adventure!

The ceremony commenced with an address by Dr. Suraj Marathe, who enlightened the students with his inspirational words “Always strive to be the best in whatever you do. Be humble and let your actions speak for you. May you be blessed with success and glory!” Principal – Dr. Neena Panandikar, who has always generously imparted her wisdom to her pupils and guided them towards the right path, expressed herself to the students. She quoted “Each of you has the potential to become the leaders of your working spheres. I wish you a bright future and a prosperous life. May you all be successful!”. Director – Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz congratulated the students on what he felt was truly coming-of-age for the young engineers as he recollected their journey of 4 years in the Institute and quoted “Education does not stop you from making mistakes but it inspires you to take lessons from your mistakes”. The Administrator – Rev. Fr. Leo joined in to congratulate the students and wish them a successful career ahead.

The juniors sang a beautiful song highlighting the years of camaraderie shared by the students. The event saw dance performances and stage and musical acts performed by the third and second year students for their seniors, as well as some impromptu musical acts, dances and poetry by the students of the passing out batch. Students got an opportunity to ‘Walk the Ramp’ to stake claim at the ‘Best Outfit’ awards, among other games organised.

The ceremony concluded with the cutting of cake by the outgoing students and the faculty. Laughs and exclamations at the performances filled the room with a light hearted ambience setting the mood for what would be warm and upbeat evening. The glorious example set by the passing put batch as student leaders would continue to live on in the hearts of their juniors.
