Don Bosco College of Engineering signs MoA with Binghamton University New York
Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Goa in its ongoing endeavor to enhance the quality of education for its students has spread its wings further by signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the prestigious Binghamton University, New York.
The MoA signed between the two institutions of repute on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 establishes a formal mutually rewarding collaborative relationship and academic partnership. It also aims to foster advancement in teaching, research, academic collaboration, and cultural understanding and to create avenues for enhancing learner experience between Don Bosco College of Engineering and Binghamton University. This further initiates an attempt to strengthen both entities by finding ways of combining their complementary resources and strengths.
Both the institutions have agreed upon creating a specific foundation to encourage exchange and sharing of academic, scientific, and cultural experiences amongst their Professors, Students, and Administrative Personnel.
The MoA was signed between Fr. Kinley D’Cruz- Director, Dr. Neena Panandikar- Principal from Don Bosco College of Engineering, Goa India, and Dr. Krishnaswami Srihari- Dean, Thomas J Watson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences from Binghamton University, New York, US in the presence of Fr. Ralin D’Souza – Rector, Don Bosco Fatorda, Heads of the Departments, MoU Faculty Coordinators, Training & Placement Officer (TPO) and Students.
Dr. Neena Panandikar, welcomed Dr Krishnaswami Srihari and thanked him for connecting with the Institute for this collaboration. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz appreciated Binghamton University for this collaboration and have assured that this will be a lifelong association between Don Bosco College of Engineering and Binghamton University . Fr. Ralin D’Souza spoke about three aspects of this MoA – 1. It narrates the history of these two Institutions, 2. Both these Institutions have a lot to share , 3. Both have hope to do something better.
In the Dean’s address to the audience, he stated that, “None of us have solutions, but we can collectively find solutions and do something for the world at large.” He emphasized on building opportunities on short term courses, faculty and student development programmes, twinning programmes, research, seminars, faculty and student exchange, and various series of seminars.
During the way forward discussion, a lot of questions were asked by the faculty and students. The event was compered by Christina Barretto and the event was managed by Avila Naik, TPO and Dr. Shreyas Simu, Assistant TPO.
