A Visit to FiiRE and a Session on “How Incubators Support Start-up Ecosystem”

The CII-IWN DBCE Student’s Chapter of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized a visit to FiiRE (Forum for Innovation Incubation Research & Entrepreneurship), Goa, followed by a Session on “How Incubators Support Start-up Ecosystem” on 7th November 2024 for CII IWN Members, Goa.The session was delivered by Mr. Thejus Joseph, Interim CEO, FiiRE. The event was attended by Dr. Nimisha Saraswat, CII Executive officer Ms. Shraddha Divkar, CII-IWN DBCE Student’s Chapter Faculty Coordinator, Ms. Melba D’Souza and CII IWN Members.

The event started with a visit to FiiRE, where Mr. Thejus Joseph showed the CII IWN members the products of several startups like Narla, Mushroom Connect, Fun Minds, Asier solutions and so on. He spoke about various startups and funds received by them, alongside initiatives of FiiRE like NIDHI EIR, NIDHI PRAYAS, Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, Kunbi Project supported by NABARD, Design Centre CSR supported by ONGC. CII IWN members also visited the cubical space where individuals work is carried out. In an interactive session Mr. Thejus Joseph explained how they help to take startups through a structured incubation process to become investable and help the startups scale faster.

During the session Mr Thejus spoke about FiiRE, their powerful partner network, FiiRE Mentors, their business units. He detailed how 51 startups are funded and 18 Patents filed by FiiRE.

CII IWN, Goa Members had a great experience visiting FiiRE and attending the session and gave a very positive feedback.
