Chess Intercollegiate Tournament Report

The Don Bosco College of Engineering chess team participated in the Intercollegiate Chess Championship on 15th July 2025, which saw an impressive turnout of 44 colleges. Our team performed remarkably well and secured 7th place overall.
Over two days, our players competed against seven different colleges in a Swiss-league format. It was a challenging tournament, but our students held their own and showcased great focus and determination.
We finished the event with a score of 9 out of 14 points, with the following match outcomes:
- 4 wins
- 1 draws
- 2 loss
Each round tested the players’ strategic thinking especially under the long-time control. The team’s resilience and teamwork helped us win crucial matches, particularly in Rounds 4 and 7 against strong opponents.

This performance is a result of consistent practice, dedication, and a never-give-up attitude from our players. The experience also provided valuable exposure and lessons for future tournaments.
