COMPUTER STUDENTS ATTEND INFORMATION SECURITY ONLINE WEBINAR (Beyond Syllabus)

C-CODES in association with the Department of Computer Engineering and Alumni Committee, DBCE, organized a webinar on INFORMATION SECURITY on September 15, 2020. The webinar was conducted by Mr Shwetang Naik an information security Associate at Fiserv Pune, Maharashtra, and Professors Merwyn D’Souza, Siya Naik, and Janhavi Naik (Computer Engg. Dept, DBCE, Fatorda). It was held for the students of the computer department via Google Meet under the guidance of Prof. Merwyn D’Souza and Prof. Siya Naik.

The session gave the participants an insight into protecting the data without any misuse by an unauthorized third party which is very useful in the military, commercial, personal and financial sectors. Participants were informed about the various security testing types namely Penetration Testing, Application Security, and Infrastructure security. They were further made aware of the OWAPS (Open Web Application Security Project) Top 10 that is the 10 most critical security risk concerns for web application security. The resource person, Mr Shwetang Naik gave a brief demo on how to perform SQL injection.

The participants were also told how Google stores user data and if required how they can look into it as well.

Prof. Janhavi spoke on Audit and compliance. The webinar concluded with an interactive question-answer session which was answered by Mr. Shwetang Naik.
