On April 24, 2025, the ACM Student Chapter at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, in collaboration with the IP Cell, hosted “Idea Ignite : Pitch It Competition for Students ” to mark Intellectual Property Day. Mr. Pranay Prabhu Gaonkar, Founding Member of MG-IP  delivered a compelling talk on the importance of intellectual property in protecting innovation.

The event featured fifteen enthusiastic teams from DBCE, PCCE and GEC pitching innovative ideas, including an AI legal-document analyser, smart specs for the visually impaired, the SignBridge app for the hearing impaired, waste-management solutions, and real-time crop monitoring for farmers. The audience and judges—Mr. Akshay Amrut Volvoiker and Dr. Amrita Naik—actively engaged with participants, posing thoughtful questions that encouraged critical thinking. Prizes were awarded to the top three teams for their outstanding and practical innovations.
