DBCE Celebrates 14th Annual Day with Enthusiasm and Pride

Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, joyfully commemorated its 14th Annual Day on March 7, 2025, in a grand celebration of achievements, talent, and dedication. The event was graced by Mr. Naryan S. Navti, Ex-Chief Electoral Officer of Goa, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Shawn George Sequeira, Assistant Manager at Paradeep Phosphates Ltd Goa Unit, as the Guest of Honor.
The day began with a serene prayer dance, invoking divine blessings, followed by the lighting of the lamp—a symbol of knowledge and enlightenment. Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar warmly welcomed the gathering, setting the tone for the celebrations. A visually engaging AI voice-enabled presentation, compiled by Third-Year Computer Engineering students under the guidance of Prof. Amey Kerkar, showcased the various activities and accomplishments of the past year.
The Director Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz addressed the gathering, sharing insights on the institution’s vision and future aspirations.
Registrar Dr. Kala Nayak then presented the academic progress report, recognizing the meritorious students for their outstanding achievements. Sports Officer Clifford Britto followed with the sports report, applauding the winners and departments for their dedication and competitive spirit.
One of the highlights of the event was the release of the college magazine, “Beacon,” by the Chief Guest and the newsletter, “Connections,” by the Guest of Honor, along with departmental newsletters. These publications reflect the vibrant academic and extracurricular contributions of the DBCE community.
Rector Rev.Fr. Ralin D’Souza, in his address, emphasised values and holistic student development. The Guest of Honor, Mr. Shawn George Sequeira inspired students with valuable insights and experiences in his speech, while Chief Guest, Mr. Naryan S. Navti, spoke about future opportunities, industry expectations, and career growth for students.
The event also featured mesmerizing cultural performances, including dances, musical renditions, and a fashion show, showcasing the diverse talents of students and faculty. The much-awaited PROCYON winners were announced by Prof. Harison Cota, with SE Computer II emerging victorious.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Christina Barretto, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. With yet another memorable Annual Day, DBCE reaffirmed its commitment to excellence, holistic development, and a future driven by curiosity, innovation, and learning.
