DBCE organises training on Oyster Mushroom Cultivation & Vegetable Cultivation for Xeldem Villagers under UBA
A training session was organised on Oyster Mushroom Cultivation and Vegetable cultivation by Don Bosco College of Engineering on 28th February 2019 in association with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) for the villagers of Xeldem as a part of Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan. The coordinator of UBA, Prof. Gaurang Patkar welcomed the speakers and gave a brief about Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan. The Zonal Agricultural Officer of Quepem, Mr. Satyawan Dessai mentioned the importance of agriculture and gave a brief introduction on kitchen gardening and its advantages. Mr. Mahendra Pagi, Asst. Agricultural Officer spoke about the various subsidies offered by the government in the field of agriculture. A demonstration on Oyster Mushroom Cultivation was given by Ms. Gelgeni Miranda, Zonal Technical Manager, Quepem. The villagers took much interest in all the information that was provided and gave assurance on cultivating mushrooms at the earliest, so as to earn additional income since the process of its cultivation is very simple. Prof. Saurabh Raikar, UBA committee member presented the vote of thanks. Under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan scheme Don Bosco College of Engineering has been selected to connect with villages of Xeldem, Bali, Assolda and Raia to address the development challenges through appropriate technologies.
