DBCE Students selected for Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2019
Smart India Hackathon 2019 is an initiative of MHRD, AICTE, i4c and Persistent Systems to provide students a platform to inculcate mind-set of problem solving and to instill culture of product innovation.
Don Bosco College of Engineering is selected by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) – Govt. of India to establish Institution Innovation Council (IIC) as per the norms and directions of Innovation Cell, MHRD – Govt. of India. IIC of Don Bosco College of Engineering focuses on creating a vibrant local innovation ecosystem, along with promoting Start-up/Entrepreneurship supporting mechanism at the campus for the staff and students.
The IIC of Don Bosco College of Engineering headed by Dr. Varsha Turkar – President, Prof. Roseline Fernandes – Member, Prof. Kiran Waghmare – SPOC and Prof. Selvyn Fernandes – SPOC initiated the enrollment drive for SIH 2019. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz – Director and Dr. Neena Panandikar – Principal encouraged the students to participate in SIH 2019.
04 teams out of 40 registered teams were selected from DBCE for SIH 2019, Hardware Edition Grand Finale. The selected teams are Phantom Prabhu (Data acquiring Robot), Cartel de Civil (Environmental Friendly Composite), Electro-coders (Smart Mobile Charger) and S2VI (Smart Stick for Visually Impaired) under the leadership of Mr. Raj Kubal (ETC), Mr. Sanket Bhat (Civil), Mr. Leon De Souza (Civil) and Mr. Shrinivas Prabhugaonkar (Comp) respectively. The selected teams are mentored by Prof. Mohini Naik (ETC Dept), Prof. Oswyn Soares (Civil Dept), Prof. Mathilda Colaco (ETC Dept) and Prof. Sweta Morajkar (Comp Dept) from DBCE.
02 teams, Phantom Prabhu & Electro-coders, selected for the Grand Finale of SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2019 which is scheduled from 8th July to 13th July 2019 at their respective nodal centres at BSDU Jaipur & IIT Roorkee. The selected team members are Raj Kubal, Rahul Kotru, Renvick Fernandes, Juella De Oliviera, Saurabh Prabhu, Abhishek Dhumvad, Leon De Souza, Yash Rege, Nihal Sambary, Nargis Khan, Eeshan Keni, Stella Tom.
