DBCE TEKFEST 2025 Kicks Off with a Grand Inaugural Ceremony

The Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda, ushered in its annual technical festival DBCE TEKFEST 2025 with a grand inaugural ceremony on 09 October 2025, that celebrated innovation, creativity, and engineering excellence. The two-day festival brings together the college’s flagship departmental events — INSPIRUS by the Computer Engineering Department and SANKRITI by the Civil Engineering Department.

The event commenced at 9:30 a.m. with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Dr. Deepak Chodankar, Director at Wisdom Labs, Verna-Goa, who was warmly welcomed by the gathering. His presence added immense value to the occasion, setting an inspiring tone for the festival.

In her opening remarks, the anchor invited the audience to embrace the spirit of innovation and introduced trailers of INSPIRUS and SANKRITI, offering a glimpse into the technological brilliance and creativity that define DBCE’s annual fest. The screening set an energetic start to the morning’s proceedings.

The ceremony continued with the traditional Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance, followed by a floral welcome to the dignitaries on the dais.

Delivering the Welcome Address, Director Rev. Fr. Wilfred Fernandes, who emphasized the institution’s commitment to fostering excellence and holistic education.

As part of the celebrations, academic distinction holders from both the Computer and Civil Engineering departments were felicitated for their outstanding achievements. Prof. Sweta Rane conducted the felicitation for the Computer Department, while Prof. Vanessa Fernandes led the ceremony for the Civil Department.

The Chief Guest, along with the dignitaries, also unveiled two significant departmental publications — the INSPIRUS Souvenir, presented by Prof. Sweta Rane, and the Civil Engineering Technical Bulletin, presented by Prof. Jonessa Ferrao. Both releases captured the departments’ academic and creative milestones over the past year.

At 10:30 a.m., Mr. Chodankar officially declared DBCE TEKFEST 2025 open, marking the beginning of two days of technical events, competitions, and showcases. In his chief guest address, Dr. Chodankar, he encouraged students to stay curious, think critically, and bridge the gap between academic learning and industry applications.

A memento of appreciation was presented to the Chief Guest by Rev. Fr. Wilfred Fernandes as a token of gratitude for his inspiring presence.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Gaurang Patkar, Head of the Computer Engineering Department, who acknowledged the efforts of the organizing committee, faculty, and students in making the event a success.

With the formal inauguration complete, participants and guests proceeded to their respective venues for the day’s lineup of technical and creative events. DBCE TEKFEST 2025 stands as a celebration of youthful innovation and collaboration, reflecting the college’s enduring mission to empower engineers of the future.
