Goa Liberation Day 2023
Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, marked Goa’s 63rd Liberation Day on December 19, 2023, with fervour and patriotism. The distinguished chief guest, Mr. Jayant Narayan Ambikar, added significance to the occasion. The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National flag, accompanied by the resonant singing of the national anthem.
Highlighting the rich Goan heritage, students and faculty members presented a melodious song that echoed the themes of freedom and patriotism. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’cruz delivered a warm welcome address, setting the tone for the event. Mr. Ambikar addressed the gathering, sharing his thoughts on this auspicious occasion. He said “the struggle taken by many freedom fighters to free Goa form Portuguese rule is unforgettable, we should value it and work towards progressive development of Goa”. In appreciation, the chief guest received a memento from Rev. Fr. Kinley D’cruz.
The cultural secretary, Mr. Abhishek Dias, expressed gratitude in a well-received vote of thanks. The event concluded with Prof. Clifford Britto, the sports officer, issuing final dispersal orders. The gathering, skilfully hosted by Mr. Loxley Dias and meticulously coordinated by Prof. Amey Tilve and Prof. Yeshudas Muttu, showcased a harmonious blend of patriotism and cultural richness.
