The NDLI Club of Don Bosco College of Engineering in association with the Department of Civil Engineering organized an insightful talk on “Holistic Success: Cultivating Personal Growth, Self-Discovery, And Leadership Alongside Academic Excellence”. The session was delivered by Mr. Krishna A. Sahakari, CEO of K. A. Sahakari & Associates. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Shruti Jambhale, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, setting a positive tone for the session. A total of 21 club members registered for the event.

Mr. Sahakari emphasized that the world relies on engineers not just for constructing structures, but for their resilience, safety standards, and integrity. He stressed the need for India to produce engineers who are not only skilled but also ethical. The key highlights of the talk included the importance of engaging in learning sessions and consistently updating oneself with new software and technologies, as well as the need for research and innovation in areas such as traffic management, particularly in the city of Margao. The speaker also discussed career opportunities available after completing a B.E., emphasizing the significance of maintaining a continuous learning curve to remain competitive in today’s fast-paced world. A powerful takeaway was the idea to “learn not how, but why,” urging students to understand the deeper purpose behind their studies.

The session concluded with a thought-provoking quote, “Work performed with higher knowledge or skill, capacity or ambition usually brings a correspondingly higher reward.” Overall, the talk was highly enlightening and beneficial for all attendees, encouraging active learning and inspiring enthusiastic participation from students, making it a memorable and impactful event. The event was successfully coordinated by Ms. Genevieve Fernandes, Assistant Professor and NDLI Coordinator – Department of Civil Engineering, along with Ms. Vanessa Fernandes, NDLI Coordinator – Library.
