IEEE Committee Meet and Greet 2023

On  July 17, 2023, the IEEE Student Branch Counselor, Prof. Yeshudas Muttu organized the IEEE Committee Meet for the executive committee and sub-committee members of the student branch.

The meet started with the introduction of the council members, followed by the fun game of ‘roll the wheel’ which provided all the students about the basic knowledge of IEEE and helped in knowing the council better. Further, every council member was assigned and briefed about their roles and responsibilities.

Students were introduced to the IEEE GRSS chapter, which is a community of researchers and practitioners collaborating and designing tools to understand our interaction with earth’s ecosystem, to monitor its environments, oceans and ice caps, and to characterize potential risks. GRSS supports collaboration at a global level.

Students were made familiar with some of the important platforms such as IEEE collaborate tech, IEEE Xplore, Vtools etc. Everyone collectively decided on activities that shall be conducted under the student branch some of which include organising program for unprivileged students, meet up of student branches of different colleges, paper presentation activities etc. The discussion was further extended with the yearly mandatory activities such as celebrating IEEE day, educational tour, conference meet, IEEE XTREME and STEM programme. Some of the activities under the WIE chapter that were discussed in the areas of self-defence, encouraging fitness, job opportunities and government scheme awareness. 

Lastly, the committee members were divided into three groups and made to have a group discussion on the activities that shall be conducted under networking, professional and technical activities. Every student showed best of their interest in discussion and came up with some of the amazing ideas on the various activities. The meeting was fruitful and got concluded with networking activity in the pantry.
