IEEE DBCE Student Branch Celebrates IEEE Day 2021

On the 9^th October 2021, the IEEE Student Branch of Don Bosco College of Engineering celebrated IEEE Day. The IEEE SB Counselor, Prof. Yeshudas Muttu began with the IEEE day celebrations by commemorating why IEEE day is celebrated. He stated “The anniversary of the 1884 meeting in Philadelphia where member of the American Institute of electrical engineers, one of IEEE’s 2 predecessor’s societies, gathered for the first time to share technical idea”. Later, the IEEE SB Adviser, Dr. Varsha Turkar compiled all her IEEE experiences into a nice short story and left the audience extremely inspired, proud and motivated. , The IEEE committee members, Ms. Neha Joshi, Mr. Atish Naik Gaonkar and Ms. Sheena Mashelkar shared their journey through IEEE and the qualities that they developed being a part of IEEE DBCE SB. The Director, Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz & the Principal addressed the IEEE Members and congratulated them for their achievements. The formal function was concluded with the cake cutting ceremony along with the executive committee members.

The audience were later engaged with poster making on IEEE bodies and some fun games and social activities. To conclude the entire event, there was a prize distribution ceremony and Ms. Rosann Godinho gave the vote of thanks. The entire event was hosted by Mr. Kaiser Souza.
