Inaugural of Kshitij 2019 – Don Bosco Project Expo

The fifth Annual Project Expo – Kshitij 2019 was inaugurated at the hands of the Chief Guest, Shri. Ganesh B. Shetgaonkar, Chairman of Goa State Pollution Control Board at Don Bosco College of Engineering on 25th July 2019.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Shetgaonkar mentioned that students learn teamwork, communication, responsibilities and other skills during the planning and execution of the projects. He urged every student to explore the area of interest and start working on the projects at any age and also bring in new ideas to tackle plastic.

Fr. Paul D’Souza, Rector, Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, Dr Neena Panandikar, Principal and Prof Ajit Salunke, Event Convenor & HOD- Mechanical Engineering Department were the other dignitaries on the occasion. Earlier, Fr. Kinley in his statement spoke about the inception of Kshitij and the motto behind it and mentioned that this Expo provides opportunities for the Engineering students as well as school students to display their projects. Dr Panandikar introduced the Chief Guest to the audience. Prof. Salunke presented the highlights of Kshitij 2019. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Mithil Parab. At this event, the students who participated and reached the finale of Smart India Hackathon 2019 were felicitated along with their mentors at the hands of the dignitaries.

Kshitij 2019 will showcase around 85 exhibits by students of DBCE and other engineering colleges and polytechnics of Goa. A project competition is being organized in association with ISHRAE Goa Chapter for school students and around 100 students are participating in the event.

Various parallel events will be held during Kshitij 2019; One day Hands on Workshop on “Safety at Workplace” in association with FSAI Goa Chapter for school teachers, Talk on “Space Exploration” by Dr. Vital Tilve, Eminent Scientist from NASA, “Quiz competition” for school students and Panel discussion on “Addressing Engineering skills, Gaps & Links with Industry” in association with Goa State Innovation Council.

The coordinators of Kshitij 2019 are Prof. Sachin Turi, Prof. Mithil Parab, Prof. Satyesh Kakodkar & Prof. Yeshudas Muttu.
