Inaugural of Robotics Club of DBCE – ROBOCOM

The Installation Ceremony of the Robotics Club of Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), ROBOCOM, was held on 17 October 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in Seminar Hall 2. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Myron Rodrigues, Robotics Engineer, along with Rev. Fr. Wilfred Fernandes, Director, and Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal. Robotics Faculty Coordinator, Prof. Flavia Leitao, was also present.

The ceremony began with the digital lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge, innovation and the spirit of technological advancement. This was followed by a video presentation by Mr. Reeve Fernandes, showcasing the club’s activities and milestones over the past year. The badging ceremony then formally invested the newly elected council members with their roles, after which the Robocom oath was administered, affirming the council’s commitment to teamwork, integrity and excellence.

To acknowledge dedication within the club, winners of the Technical Events were felicitated for their skill and performance. Outstanding team members were also honored for their exceptional contributions to the club’s progress. Prof. Flavia Leitao shared warm remarks, highlighting each member’s unique efforts and their impact on Robocom’s journey. A special appreciation was offered to Mr. Maynard Rodrigues for his remarkable contribution to the club.

In her address, Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar emphasized the importance of continuous learning and creativity in engineering, while congratulating the newly appointed council. She also acknowledged Prof. Flavia for her consistent guidance and motivation. Director Rev. Fr. Wilfred Fernandes highlighted discipline, collaboration and perseverance as key elements for success in robotics.



Following this, Mr. Sherwin Dias introduced the Chief Guest, Mr. Myron Rodrigues, a founding member of Robocom. His presence marked a proud moment for the institution. In his talk, Mr. Rodrigues shared insights from his experience as a Robotics Engineer and encouraged students to pursue innovation with passion, curiosity and a strong problem-solving mindset.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Mazen Leitao, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty and students for their support. The event was compered by Mr. Sleydon.

The ceremony marked a significant new chapter for the Robocom Council, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing innovation, promoting technical excellence and inspiring students to lead the future of robotics and automation.
