Industrial Visit to Faber Castell (India) Pvt. Ltd, Corlim, Goa- Report

On  July 28, 2023 Student members of CII-IWN Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE) Student Chapter visited Faber Castell (India) Pvt. Ltd at Corlim- Goa, they were accompanied by CII IWN DBCE Faculty Coordinator Ms. Melba Dsouza.

The students were introduced to the functioning and working at Faber Castell and the three units in the area. Students were first guided about all the safety requirements to be followed so as to avoid any possible hazards. The students were then taken to unit 3 were the students were shown different filling processes and the process of moulding wax, oil and the wax-plastic composite crayons. The students then moved to unit 2 where they were shown the process of making the pigment pastes followed by the filling of tubes and containers for ink and paints, they were also  shown the packaging process which is semi-automated. Lastly, the students moved to the Text liners unit, where they were shown all the products followed by the process of making of Highlighters and Modelling clay.

The students were grateful to get this opportunity to visit this place, it gave them a real experience of functioning of the industry and gave them an idea of the industrial world, they were truly grateful to Mr. Sunil Bhatikar and the Staff at Faber Castell for being available to guide the students.
